FHD Starts Vaccinations Plus Mass Vaccination Site Being Prepared

FHD

The Fishers Health Department plans a mass vaccination site at a former Marsh Supermarket store, located at 12520 Brooks School Rd. (116th Street & Brooks School Rd.) in Fishers. The 48,000 sq. ft. site is currently being refurbished by the Fishers Department of Public Works to be able to do support mass vaccinations within Fishers. The plan is to be able to process approximately 1,000 vaccinations a day for people across Central Indiana. As reported earlier, Fishers is asking people to fill out vaccination requests forms that can be found at www.fishers.in.us/vaccine. This will help them plan and will be used to notify people when a vaccination is available.

The Fishers Health Department has already administered their first Covid-19 vaccine at a temporary site. They will start using the new site as soon as it is operational, which is expected by the end of January. The new site will have registration, vaccinations, and a waiting area.

Public Health Director Monica Heltz stated, “We are thrilled to have COVID-19 vaccinations available to our residents beginning today.” She went on to say “This vaccine gets us one step closer to controlling the spread of COVID-19 and eventually experiencing some normalcy in our daily lives. I urge each of our residents to get this vaccine and continue to stay vigilant by washing hands, masking up, and distancing from those outside your household.”
